Showcasing innovation panel discussion: EU public administrations' data-driven use cases

We are excited to announce the panellists for this discussion: 

• Valter Ferreira, Intelligence Specialist in Lisbon City’s Smart Management Centre, will share insights on using data from mobile devices to understand crowd flows across the city. 
• Bo Fristed, Chief of Innovation Technology and Creativity (ITK),, will share insights on fleet optimisation and data from city buildings for the City of Aarhus, along with their “open DNA”—open source, open data, and open innovation. 
• Matej Radinja, Researcher at the University of Ljubljana from the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, will share insight on using a hybrid modelling approach, which combines mechanistic and data-driven modelling, applied to the field of urban drainage with the goal of optimising stormwater control measures. 

These use cases aim to illustrate how data-driven insights, powered by open data, can equip governments with the ability to respond quickly to challenges, improve efficiency, foster transparency, and create more effective policies to benefit their citizens. 

By reviewing these examples, national, regional, and local public administrations will be inspired to design and implement their own data-driven approaches leveraging the BDTI service offerings.
